In 2020, KGA became one of the first carbon neutral event agencies in London.
By offsetting our 2020 carbon emissions, we are helping to support the following projects, which meet the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS). The projects assist carbon emission reduction as well as bringing local community benefits:
Philippines
The Negros Island Solar Power Project involves the installation of 32MW La Carlota Solar Power PV Plant and 48MW Manapla Solar Power Plant. The purpose of the project is to provide renewable daytime power to the grid throughout the year. It is one of the first in a new generation of renewable energy projects that seek to reduce the Philippines' reliance on imported fossil fuels.
India
This project, in the state of Maharashtra, India, generates renewable wind energy and sells the power generated to the state grid. The total installed capacity of the project is 80MW which involves operation of 40 Wind Turbine Generators. The initiative is promoted by Panama Wind Energy Godawari Pvt Limited. The power produced displaces an equivalent amount of mainly fossil fuel fired power from the grid.
Unsurprisingly, 2020 did not involve a great deal of event production. With 2021 looking increasingly busier, in addition to our operational carbon footprint, KGA continues its pledge to individually assess, verify and offset each of the company's event production activities.
